I was appointed to the role of BI Engineer after completing a Software Development Bootcamp with the Institute Of
Coding. This role streamlined business processes increasing productivity straightaway with the visualisation of data
through dashboards and report, this empowered the managers to make more efficient and effective decisions.
Initially, I was responsible for establishing our server and databases on Microsoft Azure, employing T-SQL to integrate
diverse data sources effectively. I developed a data pipeline tailored to our business needs, enabling the generation of
weekly reports via Python and the creation of insightful dashboards with Power BI.
● Identify data and analytics technology solutions to enhance business processes
● Design, build, and implement successful data solutions, including data visualizations using PowerBI, DAX, and
third-party software
● Lead key technical and design discussions to drive optimal outcomes
● Conduct ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to senior leadership
● Collect, analyze, and share data to support strategic business decision-making
● Data acquisition, cleansing, and visulisation
● Prepare detailed specifications for program development and manage program design, coding, testing, and
documentation
● Develop and maintain data models for reporting and analytics
● Design and develop automated solutions for recurring reporting and in-depth analysis
● Spearhead the creation of business technology roadmaps
I have recently expanded my role as a BI Engineer, taking on additional responsibilities and contributing to the growth and
success of the company. Along with my previous tasks, I have successfully completed the following:
● Conducted a comprehensive security and permissions audit, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
● Provided oversight and guidance to multiple departments, actively contributing to their operational efficiency and
effectiveness.
● Acted as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), collaborating closely with executives to shape
strategic decisions and drive positive outcomes.
● Assumed the role of a shareholder, demonstrating a vested interest in the company's success and actively
participating in decision-making processes.
● Took on the responsibility of project management for multiple crucial projects that are instrumental in shaping the
company's future.
● Engaged in staff development initiatives, actively participating in training programs and sharing knowledge to
foster the growth of colleagues.
● Underwent ongoing leadership and management training, including the pursuit of ILM Level 3 certification, to
enhance my skills and contribute effectively to the organization's growth and success.
Through these expanded responsibilities and continuous professional development, I have demonstrated my commitment
to driving the company forward and excelling in my role as a BI Engineer.
